Title: | Seafood Hg Database: Mercury concentrations in U.S. commercial seafood items |
Identifier: | knb.295 |
Alternate Identifier: | Seafood Hg Database |
Abstract: |
The Seafood Hg Database contains mercury concentrations of common, commercial fish and shellfish items in the U.S. The database includes mean mercury concentrations, sample size, and gegraphic region, aggregated from multiple government monitoring programs and from the academic literature. Details describing the development and composition of the Seafood Hg Database, as well as findings from the database, can be found in the first peer-reviewed publication resulting from this research: A Quantitative Synthesis of Mercury in Commercial Seafood and Implications for Exposure in the U.S. (http://dx.doi.org/10.1289/ehp.1205122). This publication is open access. Please cite this publication when using or sharing this database. Updated versions of the Seafood Hg Database will be posted periodically if additionally funding is obtained. These updates will be posted and associated with the original Seafood Hg Database.
