General Information

Title:EPA Wadeable Stream Assessment Data
Identifier:nuding.9.4
Abstract:
The EPA conducted a nationwide stream assessment in an effort to determine the conditions of the nation's waters. They developed mulitple data sets and made them available to public: http://www.epa.gov/owow/streamsurvey/web_data.html (as of October 2010). The data provided here on the KNB is derived from this publicly available data, but brings together three separate datasets on water quality, benthic metrics and location into a single dataset. This single dataset was pared down so that it is readily usable with the teaching module entitled "Investigating human Impacts on Stream Ecology: Locally and Nationally".
