Hurricane related demography of Ardisia escallonioides (FL)
Demographic rates of a subtropical undestory shrub in seven different states of canopy openness and habitat transition estimates for states of canopy openness in subtropical hardwood hammocks of extreme southern Florida. Demographic rates were estimated from empirical data at 4 sites after Hurricane Andrew, a category 5 hurricane (Aug 24, 1992). Habitat dynamics were estimated from the historical record combined with empirical data on the rate canopy closure (from fisheye photographs).
